Game is Hard is a free puzzle game by Unico Studio for Android and iPhone. Every level looks simple, just a short line of text and a few shapes, but the obvious move almost never works.

To win you might need to tilt your phone, shake it, turn the volume up, or read the question very literally. There are 300 levels, a Master Challenge mode with fresh twists on the hardest puzzles, and it plays offline in 20 languages.

Level 261 is a counting puzzle. The picture shows the four lit balls with the numbers swapped. Want to solve it yourself? Open the hints one at a time first.

After swapping the first and third numbers, the counts are 4, 3, 2, 4.
Solution
  1. Tap the countTap each ball as many times as the number under it.
  2. The problemThe third ball can’t handle four taps, so with the numbers as they are the level can’t be finished.
  3. Swap the numbersSwap the 4 under the third ball with the 2 under the first ball. Then tap the balls 4, 3, 2 and 4 times.
Why it worksThe numbers under the balls can be moved. Putting the small 2 under the delicate third ball lets every ball reach its count.
