Game is Hard is a free puzzle game by Unico Studio for Android and iPhone. Every level looks simple, just a short line of text and a few shapes, but the obvious move almost never works.

To win you might need to tilt your phone, shake it, turn the volume up, or read the question very literally. There are 300 levels, a Master Challenge mode with fresh twists on the hardest puzzles, and it plays offline in 20 languages.

What you see
“make them all purple.” above eight balls joined by lines like a network. The ball on the lower right has a white dot: that’s where you start.

Level 242 is a connect-the-dots route. The picture numbers the balls in the order to tap them. Want to solve it yourself? Open the hints one at a time first.

You can’t go back over a purple ball.
Tap in the numbered order, starting from the ball with the white dot (1).
Solution
  1. The ruleYou can only tap a black ball that is connected by a line to the last purple ball, and you can’t tap a purple ball twice.
  2. First halfFrom the starting ball go up, then up-left to the top, then down-left, then down-right to the middle ball.
  3. Second halfFrom the middle go straight down, then up-left, then straight up to the last ball.
Why it worksIt’s a one-stroke drawing puzzle. The path has to visit every ball exactly once, so the order is fixed.
