Game is Hard is a free puzzle game by Unico Studio for Android and iPhone. Every level looks simple, just a short line of text and a few shapes, but the obvious move almost never works.

One layout that works: reds in three corners, blues left, purples right, yellows together in the middle.
Solution
  1. Reds in the cornersA red ball can’t touch any other ball, not even diagonally. Put the three reds in three corners and leave the squares around them empty.
  2. Split blue and purpleKeep the blues on the left side of the grid and the purples down the right edge so they never touch.
  3. Yellows in a groupPut the seven yellows in the middle. Every yellow must touch at least one other yellow.
Why it worksOnce the reds and their empty buffers are placed, exactly thirteen squares remain for thirteen balls. Blues left, purples right and yellows in between keeps every rule happy.
