    Isn’t the midpoint of the line segment of the two points also equidistant?

      That’s indeed true, and if you also were to draw the bisector of the segment the two nods form, all the points in the after mentioned bisector would be equidistant. But if you pay close attention to the question, you will see that they are asking about the nods, not all the points. Tbe nods that happened to be equidistant were those two.
