Game is Hard is a free puzzle game by Unico Studio for Android and iPhone. Every level looks simple, just a short line of text and a few shapes, but the obvious move almost never works.

To win you might need to tilt your phone, shake it, turn the volume up, or read the question very literally. There are 300 levels, a Master Challenge mode with fresh twists on the hardest puzzles, and it plays offline in 20 languages.

What you see
“think small.” above five pink balls with the numbers 5, 6, 6, 3 and 9. This is the first of several rounds.

Solution
  1. Round 1: the lowest numberTap the ball with the lowest number. Here that is the 3.
  2. Round 2 and 3When several balls show the same number, tap the one that is smallest in actual size. In a round where negative numbers appear, −10 is the lowest.
  3. Last roundWhen two 4s are the lowest, tap both at the same moment with two fingers.
Why it works“Small” can mean a small number or a small ball, and the level switches between the two. Reading each round carefully tells you which one it wants.
