Game is Hard is a free puzzle game by Unico Studio for Android and iPhone. Every level looks simple, just a short line of text and a few shapes, but the obvious move almost never works.

To win you might need to tilt your phone, shake it, turn the volume up, or read the question very literally. There are 300 levels, a Master Challenge mode with fresh twists on the hardest puzzles, and it plays offline in 20 languages.

  1. What the numbers meanEach number is the total of corners in that row or column. The colour of each digit says which colour of shape it counts.
  2. Top two rowsRow 1: purple square, purple triangle, purple triangle. Row 2: blue triangle, ball, ball.
  3. Bottom two rowsRow 3: blue triangle, purple square, blue triangle. Row 4: ball, purple triangle, purple triangle.
Why it worksA square has 4 corners, a triangle 3 and a ball none. The two-colour numbers like 64 mean 6 blue corners and 4 purple ones, which is why the colours matter as much as the shapes.
