Game is Hard is a free puzzle game by Unico Studio for Android and iPhone. Every level looks simple, just a short line of text and a few shapes, but the obvious move almost never works.

To win you might need to tilt your phone, shake it, turn the volume up, or read the question very literally. There are 300 levels, a Master Challenge mode with fresh twists on the hardest puzzles, and it plays offline in 20 languages.

What you see
“break down the floors.” with a red ball and a blue ball at the top, and a red floor and a blue floor below them.

Level 274 is solved with the whole phone. The picture shows the order: hold blue, shake so red falls, then release blue. Want to solve it yourself? Open the hints one at a time first.

You can hold a ball with your finger.
Hold the blue ball (1) and shake so the red ball falls (2). Then let the blue ball go (3).
Solution
  1. Shake to dropShaking your phone makes the balls fall.
  2. Same colour breaks itA ball breaks a floor of its own colour, but the blue ball would hit the red floor first because it’s in the way.
  3. Hold the blue ballTouch and hold the blue ball while you shake, so the red ball falls first and breaks the red floor. Then let go of the blue ball so it falls through to the blue floor.
Why it worksThe red floor is in the way of the blue ball, so the red ball has to clear it first. Holding the blue ball in place gives the red ball its turn.
