Game is Hard is a free puzzle game by Unico Studio for Android and iPhone. Every level looks simple, just a short line of text and a few shapes, but the obvious move almost never works.

To win you might need to tilt your phone, shake it, turn the volume up, or read the question very literally. There are 300 levels, a Master Challenge mode with fresh twists on the hardest puzzles, and it plays offline in 20 languages.

Level 70 is a sign-flipping puzzle. The picture shows what each corner has to look like when it’s finished. Want to solve it yourself? Open the hints one at a time first.

The plus signs come from the middle.
This is how the four corners should end up.
Solution
  1. Top rowThe top-right corner should read plus plus, and the top-left corner minus plus.
  2. Bottom rowThe bottom-left corner should read minus minus, and the bottom-right corner plus minus.
  3. Flip the signsDrag a plus from the centre of the cross onto a dash to flip it. Do that until every corner matches.
Why it worksEvery dash is a minus sign until you turn it into a plus. Each corner has the pair of signs shown, and dragging a plus from the centre makes the change.
